Watercolor, lots of ink. It took me about a week - I've been working on it on and off between school junk.
This was such drama. Yet, oddly, I was strangely calm. See, first I spilled ink all over the reference picture - so i was making up a lot of stuff. That wasn't so bad, but then I spilled ink on the drawing X_X; Yeah, that blob next to her head was not planned.
For the border, I drew the pattern only once than multiplied it on photoshop. I'm not crazy enough to draw it a million times.
Oh yeah and don't come around with whatever you may call "constructive criticism" like saying that her eyes are crooked and whatnot. I bet if you look in the mirror, guess what? your eyes a bit crooked too. o_O;
Funny, I thought you spilt ink on the wall, and then decided to include that in the drawing. Amazing work. What colors did you use for the skin tone? That's my biggest hurdle that I'm working on right now.
this is really cool. i thought the blob was supposed to be there. the expression in her eyes reminds me of when somebody is remembering a little sad memory, and the "little black cloud" is like what her minds eye is using to represent the sad memory.
and i love the way that you made her eyelashes look, they're very classic, i wish i had the patience with makeup to make mine look like that.

Is it an autoportrait?
