OK! read this really quickly before clicking- (ok open in a new tab and read while you’re waiting for it to load, whatever) This isn’t really a “how to draw a portrait in charcoal tutorial,” this is just how I drew this particular one. Just keep in mind that there are dozens of ways of creating a portrait. Also sorry about most of the crappy photos I just hope this is a bit helpful for some of you. Finished: [link] Reference can be found here:[link]
Super great artists who easily kick my ass at the portrait drawing thing: and about 6 trillion others ok, you know what? click here -->[link]
PS- If anyone actually cares to try my “method,” make sure to show me because I’d want to see it.
I got a new charcoal set [yay!] and I'm going to try draw a picture of a famous figure. If you see a picture uploaded of a charcoal person on my profile, it'll most likely be your method. I'll link it if I ever finish xD Annyway this was pretty helpful
Well done. Lol at the not liking grids comment. I'm the same way. Used to piss off my grid fanatic art teacher in high school though. =] Thanks for making this tutorial hopefully it'll help when I try my hand at charcoal.
This is just what I was looking for, thank you so much! You see, we're working with charcoal in art class, and I needed some guiding, aaand that's where you and your lovely tutorial come in! Thank you, thank you! Very nice explained and you show it also great with the pictures (I understand best if I see pictures instead of just reading).
